Virtual event from Edinburgh business will show how to choose sustainable wine

If you want to go greener with your wine, this virtual tasting is for you.

With COP26 taking place in Glasgow, Edinburgh's Wine Event Scotland is hosting two virtual events showcasing sustainable wines from South African winemaker Bruce Jack.

During the tasting, which are taking place on 18 and 25 November from 7-8pm, Diana Thompson and Bruce Jack will led attendees through tastings of six white and red wines.

What wines will be tasted?

  2. Bruce Jack Lifestyle Daily Brew Pinotage
  3. Bruce Jack Reserve Sauvignon Blanc
  4. Bruce Jack Reserve Chardonnay
  5. Bruce Jack Drift Estate Over the Moon Unfettered Red Blend
  6. Bruce Jack Moveable Feast Red Blend

Speaking of this meet the winemaker tasting, Diana said: "Bruce is a seriously sustainably focused producer.

"Obsessed with doing the right thing for his wines, vineyards, as well as all those he works with from employees to customers, Bruce produces wine crafted with love and positive intent to add joy to the world.

"With his mother being from the Isle of Tiree it’s not surprising that Bruce also has a passion for music.

"Having researched the science and conducted many comparative experiments, Bruce employs a Pipe Major to play the bagpipes to his wine barrels.

"Since the music travels through the molecules in the wine it helps develop them in quite a unique way. This is not the only unusual process in Bruce’s winemaking – you’ll just have to join us to find out more."

How to book

Tickets are still available and are priced at £88 with £5 delivery outside of Edinburgh.

Bruce's “lifestyle” range is widely available through Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s and Co-op. The wines range around £7 and are Diana says they are 'stunning value for money'. You can also buy the wines straight from Diana at Wine Events Scotland.
