Bertie's Restaurant and Bar on Victoria Street in the Edinburgh's Old Town quickly established itself as the capital's go-to for a proper fish supper - serving fresh fish and chips to Edinburgh locals and visitors alike since its grand opening in January. 
Today they’re asking customers to come together to celebrate Britain’s best-loved fast food by tucking in to a portion of sizzling fish and chips soaked in Edinburgh's famous 'chippy sauce' and sharing it online using the hashtag #nationalfishandchipday

Having called Edinburgh home for over 40 years, L’Alba D’Oro is a popular destination for fans of fish and chips.

Their non-greasy batter, flaky haddock and fluffy yet firm chips make for the perfect chippie. They've even been recognised by the Times newspaper, who named them the UK's number one chip shop in 2014.

Also on offer is a range of seafood including pollock, sea bass and halibut, and if you’re looking to try something new, there’s the option to have your fish done ‘alla Romana’ with sage and onions.
